Job Description

Join Panorama Eyecare as a Triage Call Center Technician, providing essential clinical support via phone. Utilize your clinical judgment and standardized protocols to assess patient concerns related to various eye conditions, such as vision loss and post-operative complications. Determine the urgency of care, schedule appointments, and escalate critical cases to the appropriate providers. You will also address basic patient inquiries, document interactions in the EHR, and provide patient education. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuous and effective patient care, while maintaining compliance with healthcare standards. Additional responsibilities will be assigned as needed to support the call center's operations.

Qualifications

1. Minimum of 2 years of experience as an ophthalmic or optometric technician. 2. Comprehensive knowledge of ophthalmic and optometric conditions and treatments. 3. Prior experience with clinical triage and patient assessment is desirable. 4. Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal abilities. 5. Proficiency in EHR documentation, preferably with NextGen or similar platforms. 6. Ability to handle high call volumes with empathy and accuracy. 7. COA, COT, or other ophthalmic technician certifications preferred. 8. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is advantageous. 9. Experience in a multi-specialty ophthalmology practice is a plus. 10. Familiarity with call center workflows and metrics is beneficial.
