Test Automation Engineer – Contract

Job Description

Seeking a Test Automation Engineer to enhance U.S. Air Force aircraft maintenance applications. Key responsibilities include: 1. Managing the development-level testing process and outcomes. 2. Designing, developing, and maintaining automated tests for APIs, microservices, and user interfaces. 3. Developing and executing integration, functional, and regression tests for distributed systems. 4. Building and maintaining automated API tests for RESTful services and integrations. 5. Collaborating with engineers to validate microservice interactions. 6. Participating in manual testing of user stories. 7. Defining and improving test strategies and automation frameworks. 8. Contributing automated tests to CI/CD pipelines. 9. Troubleshooting defects and working with engineering teams. 10. Creating and maintaining testing documentation. 11. Ensuring quality standards throughout development.

Qualifications

1. 3+ years of experience in modern programming languages (Python, JavaScript, Java, or similar). 2. 2+ years of experience in writing automated tests and technical test documentation. 3. Experience with automated test frameworks (PyTest, JUnit, Playwright, Cypress, or similar). 4. Experience designing and executing integration tests (API, service-level, unit testing). 5. Experience testing and automating tests for REST APIs. 6. Experience performing manual testing of user stories and features. 7. Experience in Agile software development. 8. Ability to learn new technologies quickly. 9. Excellent communication skills. 10. Strong attention to detail. 11. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. 12. Strong sense of ownership.
