System Architect – SME

Job Description

Leidos is seeking a System Architect to provide senior technical leadership for enterprise infrastructure architecture and modernization. Translate mission and functional requirements into scalable, secure technical solutions across on-premises and hybrid/multi-cloud environments. Lead cross-functional engineering and operations teams to improve reliability, automation, and service performance aligned to objectives. Drive technology evaluations, proofs of concept, pilots, and demos while ensuring designs integrate with 24x7x365 enterprise operations and observability requirements. Ensure architecture decisions align with Zero Trust, FISMA, and governance expectations. Architect and manage enterprise IT systems across multiple functional areas, including server, platform, storage, and cloud domains. Define scalable, resilient target-state designs and transitional architectures for hybrid environments. Develop and maintain architecture documentation, standards, and technical decision artifacts to support execution and governance. Identify, assess, and recommend technologies that meet defined technical and business requirements. Provide technical leadership to multi-discipline server and system operations teams in enterprise environments. Support root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement efforts tied to SLA and performance objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align technical solutions with policy, risk, and operational governance.

Qualifications

1. Must be a U.S. citizen. 2. Ability to obtain and maintain SEC Public Trust clearance. 3. Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of experience in engineering enterprise IT systems; a Master's with 10-13 years is also acceptable. 4. Experience managing server and system operations teams. 5. Demonstrated experience translating functional requirements into technical solutions. 6. Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) - Server Infrastructure certification or equivalent experience. 7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 8. Expertise in infrastructure design and architecture. 9. Knowledge of multi-vendor server operating systems. 10. Experience in virtualization and cloud integration. 11. Expertise in system integration and scalability architecture. 12. Experience in security architecture for enterprise platforms. 13. Proven skills in technology evaluation, POC/pilot execution, and solution validation. 14. Strong cross-functional technical leadership and communication skills.
