SVP, Global Employment & Labor Counsel
Job Description
Join our team as SVP, Global Employment & Labor Counsel, providing expert legal advice to the General Counsel, CEO, and executive leadership on global employment and labor matters. Lead the development and implementation of the company’s global employment and labor law strategy, balancing legal compliance, commercial needs, and cultural values. Ensure alignment and consistency in employment-related practices across all regions, while respecting local regulations and cultural nuances. Provide strategic counsel to senior business leaders and HR Business Partners on complex workforce decisions, integrating legal requirements with organizational norms. Serve as a strategic advisor during periods of growth, restructuring, and organizational change. Oversee employment law compliance across multiple jurisdictions, addressing issues such as wage and hour, discrimination, harassment, and employee relations. Guide the organization through emerging issues, including pay transparency, AI in HR, DEI regulations, and remote work models. Serve as the enterprise owner for employment-related charges, claims, and investigations, providing hands-on leadership in sensitive matters. Champion a respectful, high-performance workplace culture grounded in accountability and trust.
Qualifications
1. Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school 2. Active license to practice law in at least one major U.S. jurisdiction or equivalent, depending on location 3. 15+ years of progressive employment and labor law experience, including senior leadership roles in-house 4. Significant experience advising multinational organizations across multiple jurisdictions 5. Prior experience in insurance, financial services, or other highly regulated industries strongly preferred 6. Demonstrated success advising C-suite leaders and Boards during periods of growth, transformation, and complex workforce change
