Staff ML Engineer

Job Description

Yubo is seeking a Staff ML Engineer to optimize machine learning systems. This role involves delivering end-to-end ML use cases like recommendation and safety algorithms. Responsibilities include ensuring production readiness, scalability, and maintainability, while balancing speed and reliability. The engineer will define and improve the ML lifecycle, establish KPIs, and align with product and safety objectives. They will also contribute to the ML as a Platform strategy, define scalable standards, and take ownership of legacy models. Advanced ML approaches will be explored and implemented, partnering with Data Engineering, MLOps, Backend Platform, and Product teams. The engineer will bring technical leadership to ML practices.

Qualifications

1. Requires 8-10 years of experience in ML/Data, working with large-scale datasets. 2. Strong expertise in modern ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX is essential. 3. Must be highly proficient in Python and its data ecosystem. 4. Deep knowledge of neural networks and LLMs is needed. 5. The candidate should understand ML systems end-to-end, from data to monitoring. 6. Strong experience in production ML systems is crucial. 7. Demonstrate strong product sense and can align models with business needs. 8. Must be pragmatic and impact-driven, not purely research-oriented. 9. Able to explain complex ML topics clearly. 10. Capable of operating under ambiguity and structuring complex problems. 11. Bring technical leadership and influence without authority.
