Staff Engineer – Cloud Infrastructure, Security

Job Description

Join HighLevel as a Staff Engineer and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our cloud infrastructure and security. You'll be at the forefront of designing and evolving our GCP-based architecture for scalability, resilience, and robust security. This includes defining standards for project structure, multi-region deployments, and high availability strategies. Lead architectural reviews, ensure our infrastructure supports high-scale SaaS workloads, and optimize our Kubernetes platforms. Manage secure cloud networking, integrate with Cloudflare, and implement least-privilege IAM architecture. Collaborate with Cyber Security teams to remediate vulnerabilities, enforce security controls, and drive Infrastructure as Code adoption. You'll also improve disaster recovery strategies, optimize resource utilization, and mentor other engineers. Your contributions will be vital in enhancing our system's resilience and operational readiness.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience. 2. 9+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or security. 3. Hands-on experience with GCP (preferred) or other cloud platforms. 4. Strong experience with Kubernetes (GKE) in production environments. 5. Cloud networking and distributed systems experience. 6. Experience with Cloudflare (CDN, WAF, edge security). 7. IAM and access control systems experience. 8. Proven experience designing secure, highly available systems at scale. 9. Strong problem-solving and system design skills. 10. Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
