Software Engineering Technical Leader
Job Description
Cisco is seeking a Software Engineering Technical Leader. This role involves developing software aligned with Cisco's Design Thinking Principles, applying expertise to solve intricate business challenges, and recommending optimal practices. You may lead small-to-medium features from initial design to completion, potentially managing projects across multiple teams. Influencing the software engineering roadmap and writing functional, clean code with unit tests are key responsibilities. Proactively identify and resolve risks in production systems, while designing and implementing robust monitoring tools for visibility and reliability.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of related experience, a Master's degree plus 6 years, or a Ph.D. plus 3 years. 2. In-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in data processing technologies. 3. Experience shipping and supporting cloud-native services or on-premises software solutions. 4. Experience leading complex projects with a scope of 3 months or more. 5. Ability to influence technical direction and drive consensus across teams. 6. Proven ability to design, architect, and implement distributed systems with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance. 7. Deep understanding of distributed system concepts. 8. Experience with data processing technologies like Kafka, Open Telemetry, or Kubernetes.
