Software Engineer – Kotlin Multiplatform, Android Development

Job Description

Join our team as a Software Engineer and contribute to products used by businesses across Western Europe. You'll be part of a scaled agile team operating across Europe, headquartered in Bonn, Germany. Our responsibilities encompass the entire software development lifecycle, from initial concept to implementation and operation of secure IoT software for smart buildings and homes worldwide.

Qualifications

1. Proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java for backend development. 2. Strong experience with Spring Boot framework. 3. Experience with Docker and containerized applications. 4. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. 5. Experience in designing and consuming RESTful APIs. 6. Knowledge of microservices architecture and patterns. 7. Experience with on-premise and cloud-based deployments. 8. Proficiency in secure coding practices and understanding of security best practices for backend systems. 9. Familiarity with scalability strategies and performance optimization in backend services. 10. Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK). 11. Knowledge of cryptography and security. 12. Familiarity with CI/CD processes, including GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar tools. 13. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git). 14. Experience with database technologies, both relational (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB). 15. Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform and/or Android development. 16. Strong knowledge of Kotlin Coroutines and Flow. 17. Experience with Jetpack Compose (or Compose Multiplatform). 18. Familiarity with dependency injection frameworks (e.g., Koin). 19. Experience with networking libraries such as Ktor.
