Software Engineer Intern
Job Description
Leidos is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to contribute to our DoD Biometrics program. As an intern, you will: - Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software source code using modern languages and tools like Java. - Participate in the full software development lifecycle within defined parameters. - Utilize Agile tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket/Git) for task management and team collaboration. - Support the creation and maintenance of design, development, and testing documentation. - Proactively identify and navigate potential roadblocks. - Develop maintainable, specification-aligned code. - Create automated tests within a continuous integration process. - Collaborate closely with engineers to optimize technical design and new product development approaches.
Qualifications
To be considered for this Software Engineer Intern position, candidates should meet the following criteria: 1. Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. 2. Experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and patterns; Java experience preferred. 3. Familiarity with JavaScript and JS frameworks like React. 4. Solid understanding of fundamental software development processes. 5. Strong self-motivation and a desire to learn new programming languages, tools, frameworks, and techniques. 6. Ability to collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplined engineering team. 7. Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. 8. U.S. Citizenship is required.
