Software Engineer – DevOps Platform

Job Description

Join our team as a Software Engineer focusing on our DevOps Platform. Here's what you'll do: - Maintain our core infrastructure by developing software to automate application deployment, configure infrastructure, and manage key services, including databases. - Ensure the reliable operation of mission-critical services by addressing operational issues in Linux environments as an on-call engineer. You'll participate in post-mortems and implement improvements to prevent future issues. - Design, develop, and deploy internal tools and services to enhance the productivity of the broader Engineering team and enable direct ownership of operations. - Manage server hardware in our physical data centers, which may include occasional travel to our Bay Area or New Jersey locations for onsite projects. - Participate in crucial decisions regarding our infrastructure's evolution.

Qualifications

To be considered, you should have: 1. A BS or MS in Computer Science or an Engineering-related field. 2. Experience in running and troubleshooting modern Linux systems and services in a production setting. 3. 2+ years of experience developing reliable production-grade software using Java, Go, or similar languages. 4. Proficiency with at least one automation technology like Terraform, Chef, or Puppet. 5. Experience designing and deploying mission-critical, complex distributed systems. 6. Excellent critical thinking and communication skills, with a passion for learning from and teaching your colleagues.
