Software Engineer – Contract

Job Description

Seeking a skilled Software Engineer to contribute to the development of a cutting-edge Air Force aircraft maintenance platform. This role involves developing full-stack features, integrating RESTful APIs, and implementing asynchronous messaging patterns. The ideal candidate will collaborate with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to translate mission needs into technical solutions. Responsibilities include building and deploying services in containerized environments, designing and maintaining data models, participating in code reviews, and enhancing system performance.

Qualifications

1. 5+ years of professional software development experience. 2. Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot for building production-grade services. 3. Experience developing microservices in containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes). 4. Experience with asynchronous messaging systems (Kafka). 5. Proficiency with build tools such as Gradle or Maven. 6. Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks (Angular preferred). 7. Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs. 8. Experience working with relational databases (Postgres or MySQL). 9. Ability to produce technical design documentation (diagrams, system designs). 10. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn new technologies quickly. 11. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. 12. Demonstrated ownership and ability to drive work to completion.
