Software Engineer 5 – TV & Web Player Platform

Job Description

As a Software Engineer at Netflix, you'll be instrumental in shaping the future of streaming. This role involves designing and implementing sophisticated automated tests and strategies to guarantee top-tier streaming experiences on both TV and web platforms. You will lead efforts to enhance build, integration, and release processes, ensuring features and fixes are delivered quickly and reliably. Your expertise will drive technical direction for test automation and mentor fellow engineers to solve complex challenges.

Qualifications

1. Extensive experience in software engineering, particularly in test development. 2. Exceptional proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript. 3. Strong experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Spinnaker, or GitHub Actions, with proven ability to automate and optimize build, integration, and release processes. 4. Demonstrated ability to improve quality through experimentation, designing, running, and analyzing A/B tests to inform product improvements. 5. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach. 6. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills. 7. Experience mentoring peers through code reviews and knowledge sharing. 8. Nice to have: Experience in streaming media playback, architecture, and industry protocols.
