Software Development Engineer III, Java Backend Engineer

Job Description

Take ownership of designing and implementing essential backend components, constructing high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems with high availability and performance. Work closely with the Bots & Automation team to architect and develop a next-generation bot runtime platform. Develop reliable, scalable, and high-performance services, utilizing a strong understanding of Computer Science fundamentals and experience in building large-scale distributed systems. Design and implement secure, scalable REST-based backend services. Mentor other engineers, promote technical excellence, and support continuous improvement. Address production issues, maintain existing codebases, and uphold platform stability. Participate in on-call rotations for mission-critical service support. Create technical specifications and architecture documentation, ensuring software adheres to strict security standards.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 2. Solid understanding of Data Structures and Algorithm Design. 3. Strong programming skills in Java, with knowledge of multi-threading. 4. Expert-level knowledge of Databases (SQL, NoSQL) like Cassandra, MySQL. 5. Experience with Data Processing frameworks like Kafka, Airflow, Apache Spark, Hadoop. 6. Experience building REST APIs and debugging distributed microservice-based applications. 7. Experience in Kubernetes. 8. Experience with Git, Jenkins, and other Development tools. 9. Experience with NodeJS & Python is a plus. 10. Cloud expertise in either Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
