Job Description

Become a Short Term Disability Claims Specialist and play a key role in managing claims at Lincoln Financial. In this role, you'll: - Communicate with claimants, employers, and medical professionals via phone and email to gather claim information. - Collaborate with case managers, nursing case managers, and consulting physicians for timely claim determinations. - Review complex medical records, using resources to understand approval durations and plan future actions. - Complete precise financial calculations, adhering to company and state guidelines. - Deliver exceptional customer service, proactively addressing customer needs and identifying opportunities. - Recommend process improvements and initiatives to positively influence the team and quality.

Qualifications

To qualify for the Short Term Disability Claims Specialist position, you'll need: 1. A High School diploma or GED. 2. 1-2 years of experience in claims, leaves, or customer service. 3. Strong written and verbal communication skills. 4. Excellent organization skills with the ability to multitask. 5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment. 6. Quick learning ability for complex systems and product knowledge. 7. Proficiency in navigating multiple systems and databases while engaging in customer conversations. 8. Adaptability to changing business needs. 9. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). 10. Internet bandwidth of 12 Mbps or higher.
