Senior Technical Program Manager
Job Description
Assume the lead role in driving strategic program planning related to technical insurance projects. This involves crafting detailed timelines, identifying key milestones, mapping out dependencies, and establishing robust success metrics. Develop and maintain a comprehensive program roadmap that is closely aligned with the overall business strategy and the specific goals of insurance product development. Actively foster collaboration among various teams, including engineering, product development, design, underwriting, claims processing, and customer support, to ensure everyone is working in harmony towards shared objectives and deliverables. Leverage deep technical expertise to guide discussions around system architecture, facilitate informed technical decision-making, and effectively solve intricate problems. Proactively identify potential risks and dependencies within the program early on, and develop thorough mitigation and corrective action plans to address them. Act as the central point of contact for all program-related communications, including status updates, escalations, and managing any changes to the program. Promote transparency and accountability across all workstreams by providing regular reports and updates to leadership. Work closely with engineering leaders to define project scope, identify dependencies, and manage the allocation of resources efficiently. Ensure that all program deliverables adhere to the required business, technical, regulatory, and compliance standards. Oversee crucial activities such as testing, validation, documentation, and ensuring readiness for product releases. Develop a strong understanding of system architecture and data flows to anticipate and resolve any integration challenges that may arise. Apply extensive knowledge of the home insurance domain, including familiarity with policy administration systems and regulatory requirements, to inform and guide program decisions. Continuously monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and program metrics, conduct thorough post-mortem analyses, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
1. Possess over 10 years of experience in technical program management, with at least 4 years specifically within the insurance sector. 2. Demonstrate a solid grasp of home insurance systems, workflows, and regulatory considerations. 3. Exhibit a proven history of successfully leading cross-functional teams and delivering complex technical programs. 4. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical and business information to diverse audiences. 5. Demonstrate strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively manage ambiguity. 6. Have experience working with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA and Confluence. 7. Possess proven experience working with US-based business teams. 8. Exhibit excellent written and communication skills in the English language. 9. Be available to work 8 hours a day, including a 4-hour overlap with US core hours (7:30pm–11:30pm IST) and 4 flexible hours (IST). 10. Have access to a quiet workspace and a reliable internet connection with at least 30 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds.
