Job Description

Leidos is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the FAA's Office of Performance Analysis. This role involves providing Air Traffic System Automation Support, including Systems Engineering Support, Technical Analysis Support, and Portfolio Support. The Systems Engineer will develop system engineering Software Development Life-cycle (SDLC) documents for a knowledge-sharing application. Responsibilities include interfacing with customers to understand and document system functional requirements, converting customer requirements into detailed technical specifications, and developing SDLC artifacts, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS), diagrams, and other required documentation. The engineer will also track the system from post-award through design and development stages, possess strong communication and writing skills, and be able to explain technical details to non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

1. Requires a BS degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience or a Masters with 10 years of prior relevant experience. 2. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. 3. Experience as a government development contractor for information technology projects. 4. Familiarity with Cloud-based development and deployment, especially if Amazon Web Services. 5. Familiarity with the JIRA toolset. 6. Experience with database technologies. 7. Ability to develop and lead working groups comprised of multiple agencies and senior-level individuals to achieve common goals. 8. Experience developing system-level designs and process flows. 9. Ability to support customers and other program staff with project schedules. 10. Have the ability to work unsupervised and as part of a virtual team.
