Senior Staff Engineer, GenAI, Playwright

Job Description

Nagarro is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to build and maintain Playwright-based automation frameworks (UI/E2E). This role involves designing and executing API, integration, and contract tests. You will drive Shift-Left testing and automation strategy, integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) for faster releases. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is crucial to validate business logic and system behavior. The ideal candidate will implement and support AI-driven testing approaches (GenAI, agent workflows, prompt-based automation), ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability of applications. Responsibilities include implementing monitoring and observability practices (e.g., New Relic), supporting UAT, release cycles, and production rollouts. Continuously improving test coverage, automation efficiency, and quality standards. Collaborate across teams in complex enterprise environments with evolving requirements.

Qualifications

1. Possess a total experience of 7.5+ years in Quality Engineering/Test Automation. 2. Demonstrate expertise in Python (Expert) and Playwright with Java (Must Have). 3. Have hands-on experience in API Testing (REST APIs – Expert). 4. Have experience working with microservices architecture and distributed systems. 5. Be familiar with AI Agents and GenAI/LLM-based tools (e.g., Copilot, prompt-driven automation). 6. Be proficient in modern programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript. 7. Have experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred) and version control (Git). 8. Have familiarity with test management tools (QMetry preferred; others acceptable). 9. Have experience working with Jira for test management, defect tracking, and release workflows. 10. Understand Agile, BDD, TDD, and Shift-Left testing practices. 11. Have knowledge of contract testing (Pact.io – Good to Have). 12. Have familiarity with observability tools (e.g., New Relic – Good to Have). 13. Possess a good understanding of performance testing and high-traffic systems. 14. Have the ability to work on enterprise platforms (not just greenfield systems). 15. Show strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
