Job Description

Join NILC as a Senior Staff Attorney and lead impact litigation on a range of critical issues, collaborating with dynamic litigation teams. Identify and develop impactful litigation in both federal and state courts, driving plaintiff-driven and community-grounded strategies. Provide crucial legal analysis and technical assistance to advance NILC’s advocacy efforts. Develop community education materials, co-create informative webinars, and deliver vital Know Your Rights (KYR) presentations. Work closely with staff across the organization, representing NILC with coalition partners and in media engagements. Mentor Staff Attorneys, interns, and legal fellows, contributing to the strength of internal protocols and communication. Actively support policy advocacy, campaigns, and community outreach initiatives.

Qualifications

1. JD degree and active member in good standing of a State Bar Association required. 2. 7-10 years of federal civil litigation experience. 3. Demonstrated experience in the investigation and development of impact litigation. 4. Proficiency with in-office and virtual environments and software such as MS Office, internet research, and virtual collaboration tools. 5. Expertise in immigrants’ rights or other public interest impact litigation strongly preferred. 6. Proficiency in non-English languages spoken by Latinx, Asian, Pacific Islander, African, Caribbean, and Arab communities preferred. Fluency in more than one language desirable.
