Senior Software Engineer – Transition into Data Engineering

Job Description

Allata is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to transition into a Data Engineering role. You will design, construct, and maintain advanced data pipelines and platform solutions. Collaborate with fellow engineers, analysts, architects, and business partners to ensure reliable, scalable data that is primed for analytics and business utilization. This role involves applying software engineering principles to data-centric projects, contributing to initiatives supporting reporting, analytics, and data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

1. Requires 3+ years of experience in software development. 2. Strong background in software development, preferably in backend or full-stack, using Python or other backend languages. 3. Good knowledge of SQL. 4. Familiarity with cloud platforms or modern data ecosystems. 5. Experience with APIs, integrations, or data workflows. 6. Exposure to ETL/ELT concepts, orchestration, or large-scale data processing. 7. A keen interest in a Data Engineering career. 8. Curiosity and a proactive approach to learning new technologies. 9. Strong ownership and accountability. 10. Proactive problem-solving skills. 11. Excellent communication skills. 12. Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams. 13. Adaptable and open to evolving in a new technical domain.
