Senior Software Engineer

Job Description

Empower is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and deploy scalable full-stack applications and microservices. You'll be building modern front-end experiences using React and/or Angular, and back-end services using Java and Spring Boot. This role involves owning and delivering key features end-to-end, writing high-quality, maintainable code, and maintaining and modernizing legacy systems. You will also troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, participate in a shared on-call rotation for production support, and provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.

Qualifications

1. Requires 5+ years of professional software engineering experience. 2. Strong back-end expertise in Java (core fundamentals, concurrency, JVM performance). 3. Solid front-end experience building modern web applications using React and/or Angular. 4. Experience designing secure, scalable APIs and systems. 5. Experience working with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL). 6. Familiarity with NoSQL technologies is a plus. 7. Experience with cloud-native development and DevOps practices. 8. Strong communication skills. 9. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. 10. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
