Senior Software Engineer – Backend

Job Description

Join our team as a Senior Software Engineer and play a crucial role in developing and maintaining resilient, big-data-ready services. Collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers, engage in pair programming, code reviews, and technical explorations. Work closely with our CTO, Product Managers, and Sustainability Team to translate customer needs into innovative features. As a member of our development team, you'll be focused on continuous growth and agile development, adhering to clean code principles. Your priority will be to deliver user value in each sprint while automating repetitive tasks to accelerate development speed without compromising code quality. We use GitHub for our development process, including continuous integration via GitHub Actions, and host our platform on Kubernetes with a three-step deployment process, monitoring it with cloud services for stability and performance.

Qualifications

1. Must live in the EU (CET ±3) with a valid work permit. 2. Must be fluent in English with excellent communication skills (German is a plus). 3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development. 4. Strong knowledge of at least one web framework, Ruby on Rails preferred. 5. Must have a hands-on mentality and an agile mindset. 6. Passion for combating the climate crisis and creating customer-focused solutions. 7. Bonus: Degree in computer science. 8. Bonus: Experience in early-stage startups.
