Senior Python Backend Engineer

Job Description

Join Suntech Innovation as a Senior Python Backend Engineer and be a key player in building and operating the data pipelines that fuel our AI systems. Work with high-volume structured and unstructured data on platforms like Spark and Databricks. You'll design and develop REST APIs for serving personalized recommendations at scale, build and maintain Python microservices that consume, process, and serve data in real time. Optimize streaming data pipelines using Kafka and manage relational databases, ensuring schema design and query optimization. Contribute to observability through metrics, monitoring, and alerting, collaborating with ML engineers to integrate model outputs into the serving infrastructure.

Qualifications

1. 3+ years of professional Python backend development. 2. Proven experience building and maintaining REST APIs in production. 3. Strong command of asynchronous programming (asyncio, async/await). 4. Production experience with stream processing (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or equivalent). 5. Solid relational database skills (PostgreSQL or MySQL). 6. Experience with Redis or similar in-memory data stores. 7. Familiarity with containerized microservice architectures (Docker). 8. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Nice to have: 1. Experience with Python async web frameworks (FastAPI, Starlette). 2. Exposure to recommendation systems, ranking, or personalization. 3. Familiarity with Kubernetes. 4. Experience with columnar data processing libraries (Polars, pandas). 5. Familiarity with Prometheus/Grafana. 6. iGaming domain experience.
