Job Description

The Senior Project Engineer will collaborate with the MI Project Management (PM) team to deliver high-quality Synapse product solutions. This individual will serve as the primary technical resource for MI Implementation projects, specifying and deploying third-party hardware and software infrastructure. Responsibilities include disaster recovery (DR) setup and validation using tools like Backupexec, NAS, or tape media, as well as planning and deploying Synapse MI solutions such as Radiology PACS, Cardiology PACS, Synapse EIS, Synapse 3D, Synapse Mobility, and Synapse VNA. Additional duties involve completing existing customer projects, managing infrastructure hardware refreshes and data migrations, and implementing general architecture changes or redeployments. The engineer will integrate Synapse MI products with third-party healthcare IT systems, including dictation, EMR, Citrix, and EIS, while adhering to internal project communication guidelines. This role requires extensive documentation development, including customer-specific solution designs and best practice documentation. Continuous learning of new Synapse and third-party products is essential, often with limited training. Participation in the Subject Matter Expert (SME) program is expected, along with compliance with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA) medical device regulatory requirements, ISO 13485 standard requirements, and all other applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications

1. Requires 5-10 years of experience in Healthcare Information Technology. 2. Requires 5-10 years of full-time experience working with Microsoft Windows server and desktop operating systems (2008/2012/2016/Windows 10). 3. Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or Associates degree with significant on the-job experience in a hospital, Cardiology, or Radiology setting in a senior technical or managerial role. 4. Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills. 5. Thorough knowledge of PACS and Clinical Information Systems for Cardiology, Radiology, and related services including workflow. 6. Working knowledge of business continuity and disaster recovery implementation. 7. Advanced systems design, architecture, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting skills. 8. Expert-level knowledge in vSphere products - specifically ESXi and Site Recovery Manager. 9. Expert-level knowledge in storage infrastructure design, deployment, and troubleshooting. 10. Firm knowledge of overall network design and security. 11. Familiarity with clinical data transfer protocols and interfaces (DICOM, HL7, XML, etc.).
