Senior Project Engineer – Electrical, I&C
Job Description
Seeking a Lead Project Engineer to provide leadership and technical planning for projects, focusing on electrical, instrumentation, and controls engineering. This role involves developing and maintaining project schedules, ensuring compliance with procedures and standards, and establishing best practices. Effective communication of project status to stakeholders and driving continuous improvement are essential. The engineer will apply in-depth knowledge to develop quality engineering solutions, mentor junior staff, and provide project leadership for complex issues, facilitating conflict resolution and promoting continuous improvement.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field. 2. Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical, instrumentation, and/or controls engineering project management, design, or operation. 3. Knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, and controls engineering business products, processes, customers, and competitive environment. 4. Demonstrated ability in meeting project budget, schedule, and quality commitments. 5. Excellent leadership, influencing, communication, and presentation skills. 6. Experience working with Government contracts and contracting requirements. 7. Ability and willingness to travel. 8. Experience in power generation, industrial automation, or equivalent technical environment. 9. Prior experience working with architect engineers/subcontractors. 10. IT/Computer competency. 11. Proven ability to think strategically, be creative, and move quickly. 12. Established credibility with peers and managers. 13. Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems. 14. Primavera project scheduling tool experience. 15. Graduate of GE leadership program (PMLP, JOLP, or similar). 16. Six Sigma training (BB, DFSS, etc.) (GE Employees only).
