Senior Payroll Associate – Ophthalmology

Job Description

The Senior Payroll Associate role involves advising and assisting departmental supervisors on payroll-related matters. Key responsibilities include processing payroll transactions for both academic and nonacademic personnel. The associate will assist new hires with completing necessary paperwork and may provide general orientation. This role also manages departmental foreign national paperwork and visa compliance. Support for supervisors includes assistance with hiring processes like job requisitions and appointment screenings. Additional tasks may include maintaining leave records, preparing cost-transfers, managing personnel files, assisting with employee evaluations, and supporting the annual budget process. Ensuring PAR report accuracy and administering academic bonus and faculty compensation plans are also critical.

Qualifications

1. Education: Associate degree or a combination of equivalent education and experience. 2. Work Experience: At least 3 years in a university environment. 3. Skills: Proficiency in accounting, accounting systems, business practices, and computer literacy. Experience with contracts, grants management, and HR software systems is essential. Must possess highly developed interpersonal and organizational skills, along with familiarity with Lotus Applications and Microsoft Word. Ability to operate office equipment efficiently.
