Job Description

Join Inspiren as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer and play a vital role in building intelligent workflows powered by Vision-Language Models (VLMs). You'll design, develop, and refine VLM-based pipelines that generate high-quality labels and annotations at scale, incorporating prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and rigorous evaluation techniques. Your expertise will guide the selection of critical signals, frames, metadata, and contextual features from edge devices to optimize VLM accuracy and reduce ambiguity. Collaborate closely with Embedded Systems and Hardware teams to define efficient device-side preprocessing and data-forwarding strategies, balancing bandwidth, latency, and model performance. Partner with Data Science teams to establish robust evaluation frameworks for measuring label quality, model accuracy, and regression detection. Stay at the forefront of vision-language capabilities by benchmarking and integrating commercial and open-source VLMs.

Qualifications

1. 5+ years of machine learning engineering experience with computer vision and/or LLM/VLM systems. 2. Strong familiarity with Vision-Language Models (GPT-4V, Claude, Gemini, LLaVA, etc.). 3. Experience building and evaluating large-scale labeling systems. 4. Solid understanding of edge/device constraints (bandwidth, compute, power) on cloud-side model data. 5. Proficiency with a modern ML stack: Python, PyTorch, cloud inference APIs, experiment tracking/evaluation tools. 6. Practical prompt engineering skills (structured prompting, few-shot examples, iterative refinement). 7. Pragmatic engineering mindset focused on reliable production systems. 8. Ability to independently drive work in a fast-paced environment. 9. Strong communication and collaboration skills across hardware, embedded, and ML teams.
