Senior Industrial Controls Engineer
Job Description
Seeking a Senior Industrial Controls Engineer to elaborate, define, and plan technical work from well-defined objectives, ensuring validation with internal and external stakeholders. This role involves leading the execution of test strategies, generating test reports, and demonstrating compliance with requirements. The ideal candidate will independently execute technical tasks, potentially supervising other resources, and be self-driven with minimal supervision. Key responsibilities include leading improvement initiatives, reviewing and approving technical solutions within existing architectures, and coaching less experienced employees. The engineer will gather information, perform root cause analysis to resolve issues, provide new control system functionalities, modify existing PLC and HMI solutions, and document equipment configuration and team processes. Collaboration with Release Management for PLC and HMI updates and supporting customers to address unforeseen issues are also critical. This position involves leading the design effort for dedicated systems, contributing to process improvement initiatives, and supporting production sites.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or Computer Science. 2. Knowledge of Power Systems for designing drive controls. 3. Experience with AC/DC Drive Control Architecture. 4. Minimum of 8 years in Design & Implementation of Industrial Control systems using PLCs, HMIs, and Drives. 5. Minimum of 8 years’ of Programming PLCs, HMIs, and related equipment for Industrial Control Systems (Rockwell products preferred). 6. Minimum of 8 years’ experience with automated systems engineering. 7. Advanced experience programming Rockwell PLCs (ControlLogix, GuardLogix). 8. Advanced knowledge of Industrial networks. 9. Experience developing and programming Human Machine Interface (Ignition 8, FactoryTalk ME/SE). 10. Ability to understand and read electrical and mechanical schematics. 11. Strong background in troubleshooting complex automated systems. 12. Experience with JIRA and agile methodology is a plus. 13. Experience in organizing a team and prioritizing tasks. 14. Knowledge in Rockwell and Inductive Automation products is a plus.
