Senior Engineering Manager – Substation Design

Job Description

Lead direct reports, sub-disciplines, and contractors in this Senior Engineering Manager role. Supervise and coordinate design team assignments, optimize resource planning, and ensure effective partner and supplier management. Guide sub-disciplines during project execution, allocate resources, and develop quality procedures. Ensure engineering schedules are updated, support data gathering for metrics, and assist the ITO team with technical validation. Drive engineering and automation tool deployment, account for site/design engineering return of experience, and ensure compliance with quality procedures. Demonstrate EHS leadership and lead business quality initiatives.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. 2. 15+ years of experience with power systems design & management. 3. 3+ years of experience leading a multi-discipline engineering team. 4. Professional Engineering License in the United States. 5. Willingness to travel 20% of the time. 6. Work experience in the specific portfolio. 7. 5+ years of experience managing people. 8. Project Management experience on power systems EPC projects. 9. 15+ years of Engineering project execution experience for AC Substations, FACTS, and HVDC. 10. Demonstrated successful experience in project technical management. 11. Experience in technical problem solving. 12. Mastering of involved discipline. 13. Demonstrates ownership & accountability. 14. Fluent in English. 15. Strong influencing and relationship building skills. 16. Knowledge of GRID product development groups. 17. Demonstrated presentation skills.
