Senior Engineer, Security Automation

Job Description

Join Twilio's Information Security Team to enhance and automate vital security procedures. Engage in the full software development lifecycle, including gathering needs, creating technical designs, coding, testing, and offering on-call assistance. Take charge of running and updating automated workflows that support various security initiatives, such as cloud and product security, Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), and enterprise security. Create AI-driven security solutions by integrating structured and unstructured data sources to improve decision-making and reduce risks. Work with cross-functional teams to find security requirements and provide innovative AI solutions. Keep automation and AI systems in good working order to ensure they are reliable and perform well. Provide on-call support for tools, pipelines, and AI models. Document processes and developments thoroughly and clearly.

Qualifications

1. A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a software engineer, creating internal tools and automating workflows at scale. 2. Expertise in Python (or another scripting language) for creating, testing, and automating security and infrastructure workflows. 3. Practical experience using AI/ML models, like LLMs, to automate complex business or security tasks and create intelligent solutions. 4. A solid grasp of software security principles, secure coding methods, and security automation. 5. Experience with data orchestration frameworks (e.g., Airflow, Dagster, Prefect) for managing and scaling automation pipelines. 6. Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), CI/CD systems (BuildKite or similar), and container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Docker). 7. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities, capable of quickly responding to feedback and working with security and engineering teams.
