Senior Engineer – Outage Engineering

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Engineer to contribute to our Outage Engineering team at GE Vernova. In this role, you will design, develop, and analyze specialty tooling and equipment, adhering to engineering standards and product requirements. Key responsibilities include developing outage servicing tooling and equipment, demonstrating expertise in mechanical design principles, communicating technical details to fabricators, generating operational instructions, and providing mentorship to peers. You will also be involved in identifying and mitigating technical risks, providing feedback during design reviews, and offering emergent issue response to field service teams and customers.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university. 2. At least 8 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering and/or machine design. 3. Proficient in 3D CAD design and computer skills. 4. Experience in the development of equipment within the nuclear services sector, particularly with regards to services provided during a maintenance outage at BWR’s and PWR’s. 5. Familiarity with the following codes and standards: AISC, AWS, ASME BPVC, ASTM. 6. Solid understanding of the principles of Mechanical/Structural Design and Engineering. 7. Ability to troubleshoot improperly functioning equipment and implement the proper changes. 8. Ability to assess technical risk and devise suitable means to mitigate. 9. Familiarity with LEAN tools and principles.
