Senior Electrical Designer

Job Description

Kingscott Associates is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer to design electrical power, lighting, life safety, and security systems for commercial and K-12 educational buildings. Responsibilities include developing detailed drawings and specifications, ensuring code compliance, managing projects from concept to completion, and coordinating with stakeholders. You'll provide technical guidance, conduct site inspections, perform calculations, specify lighting controls, size standby power systems, and integrate with low voltage systems. You will also address technical issues, interface with clients, and support project proposals to ensure client satisfaction through effective communication and project management.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Architectural Engineering or a related field 2. Minimum of 15 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably with prior K-12 design experience 3. Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex projects 4. Demonstrated creative thinking, design ability, and technical proficiency 5. Proficient in electrical design software and lighting design calculation software 6. Proficient in Revit 7. Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations 8. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills 9. Strong and effective communication skills, interpersonal skills, and active listening skills 10. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.) 11. Knowledge of Bluebeam; preferred 12. Strong organizational and time management skills; with attention to detail 13. Ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines 14. Ability and willingness to travel 30 – 40% of time throughout the State of Michigan to client/project sites as needed.
