Senior Director, People and Culture

Job Description

Winrock International is seeking a Senior Director, People and Culture to provide strategic leadership for global human resource systems, policies, and practices. This role involves advising the CFOO and Executive Team on organizational risk, strengthening employee performance, and building human capacity. The Senior Director will lead the design and improvement of People & Culture systems, ensure effective adaptation of people practices across projects, and oversee HR operational workflows. Key responsibilities include providing strategic leadership to the People & Culture team, establishing metrics to evaluate HR effectiveness, partnering with leaders to strengthen performance management, and supporting employee engagement initiatives. Additionally, the Senior Director will serve as a senior advisor on complex people matters and culture-building efforts.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of progressive HR experience with a minimum of 3 years in a team or project leader or manager role or equivalent education and experience. 2. Experience working in a donor-funded or international development environment; exposure to U.S. Government-funded projects strongly preferred. 3. Demonstrated success leading HR functions across multiple locations in a global context. 4. Proven ability to support senior leaders, influence decision-making, and build strong working relationships. 5. Broad expertise in employee relations, engagement, employment law, compensation, organizational development, and learning. 6. Strong collaborator with the ability to work effectively across cultures, countries, and organizational units. 7. Some international and domestic travel may be required. 8. Exceptional judgment, problem-solving, and conflict management skills. 9. Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 11. English fluency required.
