Senior DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes, Linux

Job Description

Operate, develop, and secure multiple Kubernetes clusters running on virtual machines. Responsibility for Linux-based systems, including physical servers, VMs, and NAS systems. Build and maintain a stable, maintainable, and auditable platform landscape. Automate operational, deployment, and maintenance processes using Bash (required; additional tools welcome). Establish security-by-design through system hardening. Implement access control concepts and secrets management. Handle logging, monitoring, and traceability. Implement technical requirements from security and compliance, translating standards into concrete technical controls. Build audit-ready structures, documentation, and evidence. Manage incident handling in the infrastructure context (2nd level), including analysis and remediation. Continuously improve the stability, security, and transparency of our systems.

Qualifications

1. Several years of experience operating complex Linux infrastructures. 2. Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production. 3. Deep understanding of Linux systems, networking, and storage. 4. Very good Bash skills and an automation mindset. 5. Solid knowledge of IT security, including system and network hardening. 6. Understanding of access control and identity concepts. 7. Experience with logging, monitoring, and incident response. 8. Interest in security and compliance topics like C5 and ISO 27018. 9. Ability to implement security and compliance requirements in a robust manner. 10. Structured working style to design systems for audits. 11. Enjoy building and operating systems long-term. 12. Very good German language skills.
