Senior Developer

Job Description

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Senior Developer to architect and deliver scalable Oracle APEX solutions. This role involves driving the migration of legacy Oracle Forms & Reports to modern platforms, defining technical strategy, and establishing best practices. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor developers, and drive continuous improvement in development standards and delivery excellence. Ownership of the full software development lifecycle—from requirements and design through deployment and optimization is key.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field 2. 10+ years of Oracle development experience 3. 5+ years of hands-on Oracle APEX development experience 4. Strong expertise in: Oracle Forms & Reports, Oracle APEX, PL/SQL and SQL tuning, Oracle Database architecture 5. Experience leading large-scale migration or modernization initiatives 6. Proven experience in technical leadership or architect roles 7. Experience with databases and data modeling (SQL, NoSQL) 8. Proficiency in API development and integration (REST, SOAP, microservices) 9. Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control 10. Expertise in agile development methodologies 11. Experience with enterprise systems integration 12. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities 13. Excellent communication and collaboration skills 14. Experience guiding and supporting other developers 15. Experience with AI/ML technologies and frameworks preferred 16. Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements
