Senior Data Scientist, Platform – Identity/Algorithms

Job Description

Contribute to advancements in identity verification by utilizing biometrics, NFC chips, Apple/Google integrations, and other cutting-edge identity verification technologies. Develop robust statistical models to identify identity fraud, including computer vision models for spotting fake or manipulated images, LLMs for flagging suspicious user account attributes, and graph-based models for uncovering hidden networks of malicious actors. Streamline and enhance human-in-the-loop ML processes for classifying fraud and generating relevant labels for model training and assessment. Implement a real-time anomaly detection system to promptly identify emerging threats across various regions, cohorts, and platforms. Create intelligent sampling strategies to estimate the prevalence of rare events and other challenging metrics like recall and false positive/negative rates. Perform experiments and lead comprehensive quantitative analyses to measure impact, highlight key gaps, and discover opportunities for enhancement. Establish methodologies and frameworks to evaluate the trade-offs associated with new interventions and propose strategies for maximizing impact. Generate comprehensive research reports featuring clear data visualizations, compelling narratives, and rigorous accuracy to drive progress in collaboration with cross-functional teams in product, engineering, and operations. Strategically identify opportunities to improve and expand our identity verification processes and safeguards.

Qualifications

1. 5+ years of industry experience in a quantitative analysis role with a Master’s degree in a quantitative field (computer science, statistics, economics, etc.), or 2+ years of experience with a Ph.D. 2. Advanced knowledge of AI/ML models. 3. In-depth understanding of causal inference. 4. Proficiency in statistical programming (Python or R) and database management (SQL). 5. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively to diverse technical audiences. 6. Capability to translate complex findings and results into persuasive narratives that drive action. 7. Exceptional project management, communication, and teamwork skills. 8. Experience in Trust & Safety is advantageous.
