Job Description
Thumbtack is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to spearhead the evolution of marketing measurement methodologies. This role involves pioneering innovative, data-driven strategies to assess marketing effectiveness, creating scalable tools and processes for various channels, and refining modeling approaches to deliver robust, actionable insights. The scientist will focus on channel incrementality to maximize return on ad spend and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align measurement learnings with business strategy. As a technical leader, they will mentor others, elevate analytical standards, and shape the future of measurement at Thumbtack, while also identifying new opportunities for advanced analytics to drive impact.
Qualifications
1. Requires 4+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or economics. 2. Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in a technical area (Statistics, Economics, Math, Computer Science, Engineering; advanced degree preferred). 3. Strong understanding of causal inference methods and familiarity with statistical and machine learning concepts. 4. Proficiency in Python and SQL. 5. Knowledge of marketing and marketing measurement; experience with media mixed modeling preferred. 6. Quantitative and structured problem-solving skills. 7. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced business environment. 8. Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and gain leadership buy-in.
