Job Description

Join Montreal as a Senior Data Scientist and play a key role in revolutionizing Brazilian education through innovative AI solutions. This position involves developing machine learning models to predict student dropout rates, enabling timely interventions. You will also create fraud prevention workflows and detect anomalies in school fund transactions by directly using data from bank and internal APIs. The role spans from data extraction and preprocessing in the Data Lake to the deployment of models in a production environment. You will translate complex insights into accessible dashboards and reports for public sector managers without technical expertise. Additionally, you will document developed solutions and support monitoring, error handling, and maintenance, ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of our systems.

Qualifications

1. Completed higher education (technologist, bachelor's, and/or postgraduate degrees) in Information Technology. 2. Proven track record in Data Science projects, preferably focused on fraud detection, anomaly detection, or financial risk analysis. 3. Advanced proficiency in Python (Pandas, scikit-learn, XGBoost/LightGBM) and advanced SQL. 4. Experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure Machine Learning (Notebooks, Synapse, MLflow). 5. Experience consuming REST APIs and integrating data from multiple sources. 6. Ability to understand business pain points (education/public administration) and propose the best technical solution.
