Senior Data Engineer, Data Platform

Job Description

Join Virtasant as a Senior Data Engineer and take ownership of scaling a modern healthcare data platform. You'll be instrumental in building core services, automation, and observability tools to enhance pipeline reliability. Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, and DevOps teams to architect and build integrations that drive our client's data ecosystem.

Qualifications

1. 7+ years of experience in data engineering or software development 2. Strong programming skills in Python & SQL 3. Experience with at least one major data platform (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or similar) 4. Develop tooling for schema evolution, data contracts, and developer self-service 5. Deep experience with streaming, distributed compute, or S3-based table formats (Spark, Kafka, Iceberg/Delta/Hudi) 6. Experience with schema governance, metadata systems, and data quality frameworks 7. Understanding of orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, etc.) 8. Solid grasp of CI/CD and Docker 9. At least 2 years of experience in AWS 10. Experience with building data pipelines using dbt
