Senior Component Engineer

Job Description

As a Senior Component Engineer at RTX, you will: - Manage component obsolescence and assess risk, determining lifecycle status. - Collaborate with suppliers to address manufacturing challenges. - Develop and update source control drawings. - Conduct alternate part investigations, creating comparison matrices highlighting differences and similarities. - Interpret program needs and statements of work. - Define component environmental and characteristic requirements for programs. - Offer technology insertion and part selection guidance, considering business, parametric, environmental, and circuit constraints. - Engage with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to define component risk and verification strategies. - Compile component verification data packages with supporting evidence. - Coordinate and generate program bills of materials in a collaborative toolset, facilitating component selection and library application. - Present findings on component standardization, design library, obsolescence management, and termination finish risk during design reviews.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 5 years of professional engineering experience. 2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience with electronic component parts and their application, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience. 3. Experience recommending lifetime buy, design changes, alternate parts, and alternate sources of supply (OMT). 4. Experience with at least three of the following skills: Mitigation for obsolescence issues; Development of system interconnect solutions; Development of project plans, budgets, and schedules; Experience with Project Management Software.
