Senior Cloud Migration Engineer

Job Description

Join Effectual as a Senior Cloud Migration Engineer and play a pivotal role in our clients' cloud transformations. Leverage AWS migration tools to evaluate, strategize, and execute seamless workload migrations to the AWS platform. Construct, implement, and oversee highly available cloud infrastructure. Work closely with cross-functional teams to guarantee smooth application migrations across compute, storage, networking, and security domains. Use AWS Migration Hub (MGN) or Database Migration Service (DMS) to simplify migrations. Automate the provisioning and configuration of cloud resources through the creation and maintenance of automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) templates. Monitor and fine-tune cloud infrastructure performance, ensuring efficient resource utilization and cost optimization. Provide expert technical advice to client cloud engineers and support teams as they embrace AWS. Work with security teams to put in place and enforce cloud security measures, including access controls, encryption, and threat detection. Support incident response and troubleshooting of cloud infrastructure-related issues, ensuring minimal service disruptions.

Qualifications

1. 10+ years of IT implementation experience 2. 7+ years of experience developing AWS cloud infrastructure 3. 2+ years Hands-on experience with AWS migration services such as AWS Migration Hub (MGN), Database Migration Service (DMS), and AWS Cloud Migration Services. 4. Solid experience planning and executing cloud migration projects, preferably on the AWS platform, including Mobilize (wave planning) and Migrate phases of an AWS Migration. 5. Proficient in developing Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g.: Terraform / AWS CloudFormation) 6. Work with multiple clients, in parallel 7. Experience with AWS including core services and infrastructure components 8. Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash 9. 2+ years of experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
