Senior Bookkeeper
Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous Senior Bookkeeper to manage the financial operations for an Australian materials company. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can ensure accurate and timely financial records, perform bank reconciliations, and handle accounts payable and receivable processes. The ideal candidate will process invoices, track expenses, support payroll processing, and assist with BAS preparation. Key responsibilities include monitoring cash flow, preparing forecasts, conducting cost analysis, and maintaining stock/inventory level reporting. You will also coordinate shipping documentation, liaise with external accountants, and provide general administrative and finance process support. This is a fully remote position offering the opportunity to contribute to a growing company.
Qualifications
1. Minimum of 5+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within Australian businesses. 2. Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks. 3. Strong understanding of Australian compliance requirements, including BAS, GST, and superannuation. 4. Proven experience across the full bookkeeping cycle, including accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, BAS preparation, and payroll processing. 5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. 6. Self-motivated and capable of independently managing end-to-end processes. 7. High attention to detail with the ability to maintain a broader commercial perspective. **Nice-to-haves:** - Exposure to construction, manufacturing, or product-based businesses. - Multi-entity bookkeeping experience. - Cash flow forecasting capability.
