Job Description

Assume a pivotal role in steering the technological advancement of our data platform, focusing on enhancing its capabilities and efficiency. Take ownership of the architecture, design, and implementation of our Databricks Lakehouse, ensuring a robust and scalable data storage solution. Spearhead the migration of intricate legacy SQL systems into streamlined, governed pipelines, improving data flow and management. Act as the primary expert in query performance, providing guidance and solutions to optimize data retrieval processes. Exercise governance over our Databricks compute footprint, ensuring efficient resource utilization and cost management. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate and streamline the software delivery process. Design and implement the semantic layer within Omni, enabling effective data interpretation and utilization. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align data architecture with business goals and requirements.

Qualifications

1. Possess 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Data Architecture, demonstrating a strong foundation in data management principles. 2. Exhibit deep, hands-on expertise in the Databricks ecosystem, showcasing proficiency in its tools and technologies. 3. Demonstrate expert-level skills in SQL and distributed computing, with the ability to handle complex data processing tasks. 4. Have experience in query optimization and data platform migration, ensuring efficient and seamless data transition. 5. Possess proven experience in building data transformation workflows, streamlining data processing and analysis. 6. Exhibit a strong command of dimensional modeling, enabling effective data representation and analysis. 7. Have hands-on experience with Unity Catalog, showcasing familiarity with data governance and metadata management. 8. Demonstrate fluency with Delta Lake internals, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval. 9. Have hands-on experience with modern BI semantic layers, enabling effective data interpretation and visualization. 10. Have experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control workflows, promoting collaboration and efficient software delivery.
