Senior Backend Engineer

Job Description

Become a Senior Backend Engineer and play a key role in designing and building backend services that drive financial workflows and transaction processing. Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to architect scalable system solutions. Engage in architectural discussions to refine service-oriented systems. Ensure code maintainability and quality through Java and modern JVM frameworks. Focus on enhancing system reliability, performance, and observability. Develop and oversee APIs for both internal services and external integrations. Modernize legacy systems as the platform grows. Qualifications

1. 5+ years of backend engineering experience in a production environment. 2. Proficiency in building backend services using Java and modern JVM frameworks. 3. Experience in designing APIs and service-oriented systems. 4. Familiarity with relational databases and large datasets. 5. Strong debugging and problem-solving capabilities. 6. Knowledge of distributed systems and event-driven architectures. 7. Familiarity with containerized environments like Docker and Kubernetes. 8. Experience in regulated industries such as financial services or cannabis is advantageous.
