Research & Engagement Lead – Adaptation Finance, Africa

Job Description

Seeking a Research & Engagement Lead to drive action research on adaptation finance. The role involves engaging with banks, investors, DFIs, insurance actors, public finance institutions, and community leaders to develop a framework mapping the spectrum of adaptation finance, analyzing real-world cases across Africa, and leading the drafting of a flagship report for financial institutions, insurers, policymakers, and donors. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of adaptation finance in Africa and contribute to building resilient communities through innovative financial instruments and strategies.

Qualifications

1. Requires 7+ years of professional experience in climate finance, development finance, or sustainable finance. 2. Must have a strong understanding of the adaptation and resilience finance landscape, financial instruments across public, private, and blended systems, and existing networks across African finance and/or insurance ecosystems. 3. Proven ability to engage financial and insurance actors at a senior practitioner level. 4. Strong analytical and structuring capability to translate complexity into clear frameworks. 5. Proven track record of producing high-quality, decision-relevant research and writing.
