Job Description

Seeking a Regulatory Advisor to ensure product compliance across food and non-food categories. Provide risk-based advice to facilitate safe and efficient product launches for clients. Leverage regulatory knowledge to guide clients, suppliers, and colleagues, ensuring adherence to legal standards. Accountable for delivering accurate, timely, and high-quality advice for confident product launches. Responsibilities include product information services (formulation, regulatory adaptations, specification/pack copy review, artwork review), providing regulatory advice, researching regulatory changes, and advising on policy changes for Ashbury clients. Manage client customer complaints, provide risk-based recommendations, and lead/support product recalls. Collaborate with government agencies (OPSS, FSA/FSAI) and industry bodies (BRC, BSI, ASA). Deliver training on regulatory topics and cultivate relationships with client decision-makers. Produce expert opinion content and present internally and externally. Stay updated on legal requirements and disseminate information within the business. Grow expertise in subject areas.

Qualifications

1. Minimum 3 years of experience in a regulatory role within industry or trading standards/enforcement. 2. Fluent in spoken and written English. 3. Demonstrable experience in independent working, workload management, and time management. 4. Demonstrable risk-based decision making skills. 5. Confident in applying requirements to product information and communicating decisions to clients. 6. Deep regulatory expertise in either food or non-food and strong working knowledge in the other. 7. Experience applying legislation, customer policies, and codes of practice to real product information. 8. Excellent oral, written communication, IT, and presentation skills. 9. Able to explain complex requirements simply. 10. Able to risk assess and provide appropriate solutions. 11. Ability to research and gather information. 12. Welcomes guidance and understands the commercial environment. 13. Stress resilient and able to work against tight deadlines. 14. Positive approach to new development opportunities.
