Regional HR Lead

Job Description

As a Regional HR Lead, you will act as a crucial link between global strategies and local implementation across South East Asia. You'll adapt and operationalize global People initiatives, ensuring they are effective, relevant, and compliant within the region. Your role involves pressure-testing global approaches for regional suitability, identifying gaps, and shaping communication and implementation strategies. You'll provide HR Business Partnering support, focusing on local org design, rewards benchmarking, and country expansion. Your expertise will be key in managing employment compliance, navigating cultural nuances, and responding to regional events. Scaling Canva's culture locally, monitoring engagement, and leading a team are also vital aspects of this role. You'll provide leadership and connection for the local People team, driving alignment and connection across different People functions to ensure cohesive delivery.

Qualifications

1. Proven experience as a senior HR Business Partner in a complex, global environment. 2. Deep knowledge of the Philippines, and ideally South East Asia, employment landscape including regulatory requirements, cultural nuance, and local market dynamics. 3. Track record of leading and developing People teams, including across dotted-line and matrixed relationships. 4. Strong judgement in navigating ambiguity and complex, sensitive people decisions. 5. Ability to influence without authority and build trust with senior leaders. 6. Comfortable operating with significant autonomy while knowing when to bring others in. 7. A pragmatic, thoughtful approach with a genuine bias for action.
