Quality Director – Solar

Job Description

Join our team as a Quality Director for Solar projects and lead the Operating Group towards continuous quality improvement. This involves resolving technical issues with suppliers, trade partners, customers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors. You will lead, oversee, and serve as a resource for Quality Managers, Operating Group Leadership, PXs/PMs, and Superintendents. Build strong cross-functional relationships and influence others to drive results, implement the Quality System, and manage group training on Quality System. Monitor Group Quality performance, lead data collection, reporting, and analysis. Establish quality initiatives, oversee incident reporting and develop leaders. Identify margin-enhancing opportunities through means-and-methods, supplier selection, and design standardization.

Qualifications

1. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management is preferred, or equivalent experience is required. 2. Minimum of 10 years of experience within the Engineering or Construction industry as a Lead Quality Manager. 3. Demonstrated experience working in a Design/Build environment. 4. Current driver’s license. 5. Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback. 6. Excellent understanding of construction processes, systems, project management, costs, and financial risks. 7. Strong knowledge of design and construction contracts. 8. Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in quality systems like Malcolm Baldrige, ISO 9000:2015, Army Corps of Engineers, ASQ, Lean/Kaizen, or similar. 9. Demonstrated understanding of A/E business and client’s business interest. 10. Ability to travel up to, some months 50% or more to visit the Operating Group projects supported by this role. 11.
