Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure the user experience in our app aligns with the design and intent. This role involves analyzing software and systems to confirm that the developers' work meets the requirements and specifications, mitigating risks and identifying potential problems. Responsibilities include: 1. Conducting ongoing testing to minimize bugs. 2. Collaborating with the development team to implement bug fixes. 3. Documenting progress in Jira. 4. Creating new automated scripts for functional testing on mobile and web platforms. 5. Maintaining the existing mobile test automation framework in Java (Appium). 6. Contributing insights to the technical strategy and product roadmap. 7. Participating in work planning and scoping. 8. Offering opinions, even when differing from leadership positions. 9. Suggesting improvements for performance and usability.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who: 1. Understands Android operating systems (how to enable wifi, provision phone, etc.). 2. Has experience with NATIVE mobile apps (either personal projects or extensive usage). 3. Knows how to find bugs in the software. 4. Can write bug reports and review documentation. 5. Can run manual and automated tests in different environments. 6. Can perform multiple types of testing (stress, performance, functional, scalability). 7. Designs tests to mitigate risk. 8. Presents findings to software development and business user teams. 9. Has the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. 10. Communicates findings verbally and in writing to both technical and non-technical colleagues. 11. Has strong organizational skills, capable of meeting tight deadlines under pressure, and maintains attention to detail.
