Proposal Writer – Government Contracts

Job Description

We are looking for a Proposal Writer to develop compelling content in response to Requests for Proposals (RFP), Requests for Information (RFI), and other customer documentation. You will support complex proposals and documents across diverse organizations, leveraging your exceptional communication, organizational, and time management skills. Your responsibilities will include: * Reviewing Government and Commercial RFPs and related documents. * Preparing questions and identifying necessary information for creating responses. * Attending strategy and kickoff meetings to understand RFP objectives. * Conducting research and data analysis to support writing assignments. * Collaborating with internal and external experts to generate content. * Composing and editing materials for new business pursuits, including proposals, presentations, and RFIs. * Developing solution-based proposals tailored to customer requests. * Designing and editing tables, matrices, past performance descriptions, and resumes for proposals. * Customizing and updating existing content to meet specific customer requirements. * Meeting stringent deadlines while ensuring well-organized and professionally presented documents. * Complying with all solicitation requirements and adhering to formatting guidelines.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have: 1. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Proposal Writing, preferably in Department of Defense (DoD) and Federal Government acquisitions/solicitations. 2. Experience writing technical proposal responses, past performance examples, and/or management plans, preferably for DoD and Federal Government RFPs. 3. Understanding of the Federal Government Procurement process and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 4. In-depth knowledge and working experience with U.S. Government solicitations, Requests for Quotes (RFQ), RFIs, and RFP documents. 5. Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Business, or other field of study requiring superior written communication skills. 6. Shipley or Association of Proposal Management Professionals completed courses or certifications a plus. 7. Ability to read and interpret documents such as RFPs, regulations, and policies. 8. Outstanding communication skills and exceptional time management and organizational abilities. 9. A stable track record of exceptional performance and achievement. 10. Superior strategic thinking, writing, and conceptual organization skills. 11. Ability to work both independently and in a team. 12. Experience with Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) proposal responses and IDIQ Task Order responses a plus. 13. Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of people. 14. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and general office equipment. 15. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word is required. 16. Knowledge of Government solicitation websites (e.g., GovWin, SAM.gov) and experience with Microsoft SharePoint required. 17. Experience with artificial intelligence software prompts a plus. 18. Experience with construction bids a plus.
