Proposal Engineer
Job Description
PDM is looking for a Proposal Engineer to create customer proposals based on RFQs, specifications, and supporting documentation. Key responsibilities include: - Conducting specification reviews to determine customer needs and product fit. - Processing orders and resolving discrepancies between proposals and purchase orders. - Assembling documentation for factory design engineering and communicating special requirements. - Managing customer change orders. - Approving and negotiating pricing. - Providing technical support to customers and internal departments. - Acting as a liaison between engineering, marketing, scheduling, and customers. - Supporting continuous improvement and contributing to ISO work instruction development. - Participating in customer visits as needed.
Qualifications
To be successful as Proposal Engineer, candidates should have: 1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Business. 2. Engineering degree candidates graduating in 2025 will be considered. 3. Business degree candidates need 2+ years of proposals or quoting experience in a technical field. 4. 2+ years of experience in product, customer service, inside sales, or proposals in a technical environment (preferred). 5. 1+ year of experience using ERP and quotation systems; familiarity with SAP is a plus. 6. Knowledge of electric power distribution transformers and applicable standards. 7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. 8. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail. 9. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. 10. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
